Mayor of Sylhet City Corporation Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury inagurated Community Digital Center inagurated at Osmaninagar upazila in Sylhet district on Monday.
on the occasion a colourful programme arranged at Koyrabad bazar osmanpur union under Osmaninagar upazila in the district organized by SOS Children's Village Bangladesh in collaboration with Usmanpur Union Parishad.

Especially this government is giving priority to the youth. As a result, girls have come a long way today. He praised the overall activities of SOS Shishu Palli and said that this village is already doing very well. Which is truly commendable. He sought everyone's cooperation to make Sylhet a modern and smart city.

Professor Hermann Meiner founded the first SOS Children's Village in Imst, Austria in 1949 and gradually expanded to 137 countries around the world.
Immediately after the independence war of Bangladesh in 1972, the founder of SOS International SOS Children's Village - late Professor Herman Meiner came to Bangladesh and met Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In continuation of this, the activities of this child welfare organization started in Bangladesh by establishing the country's first SOS Children's Village in Shyamoli, Dhaka. Later SOS Children's Village expanded to Rajshahi, Khulna, Chittagong, Bogra and Sylhet. SOS Children's Village Sylhet was inaugurated on 05 February 2012 by Mr. Enamul Haque Mostafa Shaheed, MP, Honorable Minister of Social Welfare of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
The operation of SOS Children's Village in Greater Sylhet guarantees a permanent and long-term service commitment to the helpless, abused, disenfranchised, underprivileged and familyless children of the region. It is a unique and exceptional effort in child welfare in the region. The financial and human support of people from all walks of life will make the activities of SOS Children's Village more dynamic.
