An awareness rally was held in Gopalganj as part of the nationwide dengue prevention program. The program was organized on Saturday morning with the aim of preventing the spread of dengue, increasing public awareness and strengthening integrated preventive activities.

The rally, organized by the district administration and implemented by the Gopalganj Municipality, started from the Deputy Commissioner's office premises, circled various important roads in the city, and ended at the same place.

Gopalganj-2 MP Dr. KM Babar participated as the chief guest in the rally. Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate Md. Arif Uz Zaman, Superintendent of Police Md. Habibullah, Gopalganj Municipality Administrator Fariha Tanzim and Assistant Commissioner (Executive Magistrate) Aniruddha Deb Roy were present at the time.

In addition, people from various classes and professions, including the Red Crescent, Fire Service, Bangladesh Scouts, nurses from the Health Department, and cleaners, participated in the rally.

In a brief gathering held after the rally, Deputy Commissioner Md. Arif Uz Zaman said, "This initiative has been taken to make the regular cleaning activities every Saturday more dynamic. During the dengue season, everyone must work together to control this disease by increasing public awareness and taking preventive measures."

Speaking as the chief guest, Member of Parliament Dr. KM Babar said, "There is no specific treatment for dengue. Therefore, preventing the spread of Aedes mosquitoes is the most effective way to prevent dengue. Everyone should be aware that there is no stagnant water anywhere and that the courtyard and surrounding environment of the house are kept clean. At the same time, mosquito eradication activities will also continue under government initiatives."

The speakers emphasized the collective responsibility of individuals, families, and society to prevent dengue and urged everyone to participate in regular cleanliness activities.
