Coast Guard seizes Yaba worth Tk 6.5cr in Teknaf, detains one

The Bangladesh Coast Guard detained a drug trader along with 130,000 pieces of Yaba tablets, worth approximately Tk 6.50 crore, during a special operation in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar early Tuesday.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon said details of the major drug bust in a press release on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the official, a specialized team from the Teknaf Coast Guard Station conducted the raid at around 1:00 AM on Tuesday after receiving a secret tip-off. The law enforcement team searched a suspicious residential house in the Alikhali area adjacent to Hnila under Teknaf Police Station, which led to the recovery of the massive contraband consignment and the immediate apprehension of the suspect.
Further legal action against the detained individual and handling the seized narcotics has been taken.
The press release added that the Coast Guard remains firmly committed to maintaining such aggressive anti-narcotics operations in the future to curb the spread of dangerous drugs across the country.
