Coast Guard seizes 2,500- kg of jatka in N'ganj

Coast Guard launched a special drive near Kanchpur Bridge in Narayanganj on Wednesday, says a press release.
Based on a tip-off, a special operation was conducted by BCG Station Pagla in Narayanganj near Kanchpur Bridge on Wednesday from 9 pm to 12 am.
In the operation, approximately 2,500 kg of illegal jatka was seized after searching a truck bound for Dhaka from Noakhali.
Since the real owner of the jatka could not be found, no one could be arrested.
Later, the seized jatka was distributed among local madrasas, orphanages and the poor and needy in the presence of the Narayanganj Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer.
