
Coast Guard provides emergency medical assistance to critically ill passenger on launch

Bangladesh Coast Guard has provided emergency medical assistance to critically ill passenger on launch on Friday.
Lieutenant Commander Harun-ur-Rashid, Media Officer at the Coast Guard Headquarters informed this in a press release.
The press release said, on Thursday Mohammad Saiful Islam departed for Dhaka aboard the Dhaka-bound launch Doel Pakhi-10 from Barishal for advanced medical treatment of his 13-year-old son, Md. Rafi. When the launch reached the vicinity of Harina Ferry Ghat in Chandpur at around 4:30 PM, the child's condition deteriorated further. Upon being informed by the launch authorities, the Coast Guard immediately dispatched a medical team from Coast Guard Station Chandpur to the location. The team provided the patient with primary medical care on-site.
Subsequently, the patient was swiftly evacuated from the launch via a high-speed boat to Chandpur Press Club Ghat and transported to Chandpur General Hospital in a Coast Guard vehicle for advanced treatment. The Coast Guard ensured proper medical care for the patient.
Currently, the patient is undergoing treatment at Chandpur General Hospital.
The press release added that the Bangladesh Coast Guard continues to work tirelessly not only to ensure the safety of coastal and riverine areas but also in carrying out humanitarian activities.
