The Coast Guard East Zone has enhanced security arrangements across coastal areas, religious places of worship, and key installations to ensure peaceful and safe celebrations during the Sharadiya Durga Puja festival.

Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon, Media Officer of the Bangladesh Coast Guard, confirmed the security measures in an official statement issued on Monday morning.

In line with government directives to maintain law and order during religious festivals, the Coast Guard East Zone has deployed personnel across 63 puja mandaps spanning 11 upazilas in three coastal districts under its jurisdiction. Patrol teams and surveillance units are maintaining continuous vigilance to prevent untoward incidents during the festival period.

The Coast Guard has intensified intelligence monitoring and sea-and-land patrol activities to allow devotees to celebrate without disruption. Additionally, specialized diving units of the Coast Guard have been placed on standby to respond to potential emergencies during the immersion of idols (pratima visarjan).

The Coast Guard urged members of the public to contact its emergency helpline 16111 for immediate assistance in case of any security concerns or emergencies.
