Eleven people were injured in the clash between the two sides due to the land dispute adjacent to the new bridge on the south eastern side of the old Badiakhali market in the Badiakhali Union of Gaibandha Sadar Upazila.

Deceased in the incident: Golam Wadud's daughter Mosa: Esmotara Jahan (45) as plaintiff. Gaibandha lodged a written complaint at the Sadar police station.

According to the complaint source, Gholam Mohammad Mustafa Raja, Vipul Mia, Khorshed Alam, Ghalib Miad had been at loggerheads for a long time due to previous enmity.

As a result, on September 15 at 4-30 pm, the accused came in front of my brother Golam Rahman Sumon's business establishment near the old Badiyakhali bridge and started abusing in unspeakable language. Then my brother Md Golam Rahman Sumon came forward and forbade me to abuse him and ordered to kill the accused Golam Mohammad Mustafa Raja. As soon as the said order was received, the accused Md Vipul Mia attacked my brother and beat him badly and caused bloody injuries in different parts of his body.

To rescue my brother, (1) Md. Shamchul Islam, Father: Deceased: Daulat Hossain, (2) Md. Nazmul Islam, Father: Deceased: Ash Sattar, Sang-Chuniyakandi, (3) Md. Saiful Islam, Father: Md. Abdul Jalil, Sang- Ramnath's house, all police station and district: When the Gaibandha gang came forward, the accused beat them with stones and left bloody wounds.

Accused Md. Bipul Mia hit my brother Md. Golam Rahman Sumon's head with a sharp dagger in his hand. When my brother blocked the blow with his two hands, the blow hit the middle and little finger of his left hand and the finger was torn off.

The injured are currently undergoing treatment at Gaibandha Sadar Hospital. One person was sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital with serious injuries.

In this regard, the Investigating Officer of the case, Gaibandha Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Jasim Uddin said, both sides have filed a case. Both parties were treated at the hospital after the fight. We will apply for medical certificate. We will take legal action against the guilty persons on the basis of medical opinion after obtaining the medical certificate.
