CID collects bones from demolished Dhanmondi-32 home

Staff Correspondent

A Crime Scene team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), visited the Dhanmondi-32 residence and collected two bones for examination.

Officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi Police Station Ali Masud said that the team arrived at the site on Monday morning to collect the bones, which will undergo tests to determine whether they are human or from another source.

CID’s Special Superintendent of Police (Media) Jasim Uddin confirmed the collection of the bones.

A rumour circulating on social media on Thursday alleged the presence of an "Ayna Ghor" near the demolished Dhanmondi-32 residence, claiming that human bones and hair were found there.

In response to the rumour, the Fire Service and Civil Defence, along with the police, drained out stagnant water from the building’s basement, uncovering the bones.

The CID’s Crime Scene team later recovered the bones and forwarded them for laboratory testing.
