Christmas celebrated with call to build non-communal country

The Christian community in Gaibandha celebrated Christmas on Thursday by calling for turning away from sin, falsehood, and injustice, and focusing on truth, beauty, and good deeds, along with an appeal to build a non-communal country.
The Bangladesh Baptist Church Sangha organized the Christmas program at the premises of the local cultural organization Meghdut. The program began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Bible and the message of Jesus Christ, read by Bobby Rosario.
The event was presided over by sports personality and environmental activist Waziur Rahman Rafel. Speakers at the program included former principal Professor Momtajur Rahman Babu, General Secretary of the district CPB Murad Zaman Rabbani, Assistant Secretary Mita Hasan, singer Chuni Islam, journalist Kuddus Alam, District General Secretary of Bangladesh Progressive Writers’ Association Rajat Kanti Barman, Member Secretary of Jan Uddyog Prabir Chakraborty, leader of Adivasi-Bangali Solidarity Council Golam Rabbani Musa, General Secretary of Udichi Shirin Akhter, General Secretary of Mahila Parishad Rikta Prasad, teacher Anjali Rani Debi, Poppy Rosario, among others.
The program concluded with the cutting of a Christmas cake in a joyful and festive atmosphere.
