Child killed, 5 injured in road accident in Satkhira

A child named Mostakim (18 months) was killed in a road accident in Satkhira. At least 5 people were injured in this incident. The injured are: Fatema Khatun (25), wife of Abdul Aziz of Paikgachha, mother of the deceased child Shapla Khatun (20), grandmother Nazma Khatun (45), Hazrat Ali (45) and Rashed Ali, son of Abdur Rahim Sardar of Bhaluka Chandpur village of Sadar upazila. The injured have been admitted to Satkhira Sadar Hospital.
The accident occurred at the Dahakula intersection on the Satkhira-Asasuni road at around 10:30 am on Sunday.
According to local and hospital sources, the deceased child Mostakim was coming to Satkhira to medical treatment a doctor on an easy bike from Srikanthpur village in Paikgachha, Khulna on Sunday morning with his mother Shapla Khatun and grandmother Nazma Khatun. On the way, when they reached Dahakula intersection, they collided with a speeding passenger bus. At that time, the child Mostakim fell from his mother's lap and fell on the road. He was rescued and brought to Satkhira Sadar Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
In this regard, Satkhira Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shaminul Haque confirmed the incident and said that the bus involved in the accident has been seized. However, the bus driver and helper have fled and have not been arrested yet. If anyone complains about this incident, an investigation will be conducted and legal action will be taken.
