Child dies after drowning in pond in Choto Moheshkhali

A child named Ayat (2) died after drowning in a pond in the Southkul area of Choto Moheshkhali Union.
The deceased child is the son of Ershad from the Southkul area of Choto Moheshkhali Union. His death has cast a shadow of mourning over the area.
The incident occurred on Friday (15 August) at 11 am.
The father of the deceased, Ershad, stated that after not seeing Ayat at home, his mother searched for him extensively. Not finding him anywhere, she noticed footprints in the muddy ground by the pond near their house and went towards the pond.
At that time, upon seeing her child's body, the mother began to cry, and local people came and retrieved Ayat's body from the pond.
