A colourful rally and gathering was held on the occasion of the 48th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir at the initiative of Rangpur District and Metropolitan Branches.

On Thursday, a colourful rally started from Rangpur Medical College Gate and circled various main roads of the city and ended at Town Hall Gate. There, a short rally was held under the chairmanship of Rangpur District President of Islami Chhatra Shibir Firoz Mahmud, District Secretary Hamidur Rahman, Office Secretary Ashraful Islam Salehi, Former District President Mehedi Hasan and former District Baitul Maal Secretary Farhad Hossain Mandal.

Besides, in the afternoon, a colorful rally on the initiative of the Metropolitan Branch from Shapla Chattar in the city circled important main roads of the city. Later, at the rally held in Lalbagh under the chairmanship of Islami Chhatra Shibir Metropolitan President Nurul Huda, Metropolitan Secretary Anisur Rahman, former Metropolitan President Harun Or Rashid and Mostaq Ahmed spoke, among others.

The speakers at the rally said that Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir has been and will be by the side of the nation in any crisis in the country. This large organization of students is moving forward steadfastly for their cause. However, many sacrifices have been made at every step of this journey.

The students have had to endure endless oppression and torture including murder, disappearance, torture, arrest, imprisonment and oppression by the previous fascist government. Therefore, the Chhatra Shibir has become a symbol of hope and aspiration for the people of the country. The Chhatra Shibir is firmly determined to fulfill the expectations of the nation and will be successful In Sha Allah.
