A career seminar and programming contest were held at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) on Thursday.

The events were jointly organised by the NSTU CSTE Club and BRAC IT on the university campus.

The closing ceremony of the competition was held in the university's video conference room. Professor Dr. Mohammad Rezwanul Haque, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of NSTU, attended as a special guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dr. Mohammad Rezwanul Haque said, "We are delighted that through this competition, five of our students have been recruited as software engineers at BRAC IT. I hope you will act as ambassadors of NSTU. Your performance should inspire other organisations like BRAC IT to come to NSTU and host similar events. I extend my gratitude to BRAC IT and our university's faculty for organising this wonderful event."

In the morning, a career seminar was held in the university's central auditorium. The seminar was presided over by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Professor Dr. Asadun Nabi. Guest speakers included Shah Ali Newaz Topu, Chief Technology Officer of BRAC IT, and Kallol Nag, Head of Employee Experience in the Quality Assurance and Admin Department of BRAC IT. The session was moderated by Associate Professor Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin of the Department of Computer Science and Telecommunication Engineering (CSTE).

On the other hand, a day-long programming contest was held at the CSTE Department. Graduates from the 13th to 15th batches of the department participated in the competition. Faculty members, students, officers, and staff from various departments attended the event.

It is worth noting that five students from the 15th batch of NSTU received appointment letters from BRAC IT as software engineers following the coding contest organised by BRAC IT with the support of the CSTE Club. The students are Atahar Uddin Pulak, Abdur Rahman Rony, Poly Akter, and Mahbub Ali Arzu from the CSTE Department and Sajib Barua from the ICE Department.
