Cancellation of agreement for allocation of 900-acre land to India demanded

Mirsarai Conscious Citizens’ Society has called for development in the National Economic Zone in Mirsarai, Chattogram, without harming the environment and demanded the cancellation of a 900-acre land allocation to India.

A press conference was held at the District Council Auditorium on Monday noon and   several demands were presented 

Gazi Nizam Uddin, former member secretary of Mirsarai Upazila BNP, presented the demands in writing. 
 
These include establishing a Mirsarai Development Authority to implement planned urbanization, creating a mangrove forest across the newly emerged chars west of the Super Dyke in the entire coastal area and fully preserving the existing intact mangrove forest, which has not been allocated for industrial use, and declaring the area as a habitat for the remaining Maya deer and immediately canceling the 900-acre of land alloted to India. 

 Gazi Nizam Uddin, former member secretary of Upazila BNP; Mohammad Alamgir, former general secretary; Dr. Muhammad Kamal Uddin, a Nazrul researcher; Nurul Karim, former amir of Upazila Jamaat; Alamgir Hossain, executive director of Apakar; Rafiqul Islam, former principal of Nizampur Government College; Mahiuddin, former convener of Municipality BNP; Jahid Hussain, former member secretary; and Md. Ashraf Uddin, convener of Upazila Krishak Dal, among others spoke.
