Businessman attacked , Tk 1.5 million robbed led by Awami League leader in Kabirhat

Sn Awami League leader has allegedly attacked a businessman and robbed Tk 1.5 million in cash over a land dispute.
The incident occurred at 6:30 PM on Monday (May 12) in front of Abul Khair Super Market near Dhanshalik Bazar in Char Gullakhali of Dhanshalik Union. According to the victim's family, the attack and robbery were carried out by a gang of criminals under the leadership of Union Awami League leader Md. Shah Jahan Company (60).
The victim, Sanowar Siddique Palash (36), is the son of Haji Sana Ullah from Siddique Pion Bari in Char Gullakhali village, Ward No. 4 of Dhanshalik Union. He is a businessman of Messrs Parvez and Brothers in Chaprashirhat Bazar.
Following the incident, the victim filed a complaint with Kabirhat Model Police Station, naming five individuals as accused. Police quickly conducted an operation and arrested the alleged ringleader, Md. Shah Jahan Company.
Other accused named in the complaint include: Md. Arman (25), Siddique Ullah (35), Rafiqullah Chhutti (50), and Rubel (30), along with 10–15 unidentified individuals.
According to the victim and the complaint, after completing business for the day, Sanowar Siddique Palash and his manager Md. Yasin were returning home from Chaprashirhat Bazar by motorcycle. As they reached in front of Abul Khair Super Market near Dhanshalik Bazar, a group of criminals led by Shah Jahan intercepted their motorcycle and launched a sudden attack. During the assault, they forcibly snatched away a bag containing Tk 1.5 million.
Arafat Siddique, a family member of the victim, stated that there had been a long-standing land dispute with Shah Jahan Company, a fascist Awami League leader of Dhanshalik Union. A related court case is ongoing. Recently, when Shah Jahan and his associates attempted to illegally occupy 15 decimals of their family land, they were evicted from it.
He added that out of anger, Shah Jahan’s backed group of criminals launched the premeditated attack on his brother Sanowar Siddique Palash and their store manager Md. Yasin and looted the Tk 1.5 million in business funds.
He further said, “We demand a fair investigation and justice from the administration regarding this incident.”
When contacted, Kabirhat Police Station OC Shahin Miah said, “We have received a written complaint regarding the attack and robbery. An investigation is underway.” In response to another question, the OC confirmed that one Awami League leader accused in the incident has been arrested.
