Budget FY 2024-25 : Cigarette, mobile costs may increase

The cost of several goods and services may increase and decrease due to the changes in the imposition of duties and taxes in the proposed national budget for fiscal year 2024-25.
According to the Ministry of Finance sources, the prices of tobacco products, water filters, LED bulbs, computers may increase in this budget. Mobile call rates and internet costs are also on the list of increases.
Meanwhile, prices of powdered milk and laptops may decrease.
Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali unveils a proposed Taka 7,96,900 crore national budget for the next fiscal year (FY25) at Jatiya Sangsad (JS) at 3pm on Thursday (June 6).
This will be the country's 53rd budget and the 25th of the Awami League (AL) government in six terms.
