Bubly gets back her candidature

Independent candidate Farzana Rabbi Bubly, daughter of late Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Advocate Fazle Rabbi Mia, has got back her candidature for contesting the 12th parliamentary election from Gaibandha-5 (Saghata-Phulchhari) constituency.
The Election Commission (EC) led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal started the hearing on the appeal petition at the EC office in the capital on Sunday (10 December).
After hearing, the EC today declared the nomination of Farzana Rabbi Bubly valid.
Confirming the matter to the media, Bubly said she appealed to the EC to get her candidacy back on Wednesday.
Farzana Rabbi Bubly, daughter of seven-time MP from Gaibandha-5 Advocate Fazle Rabbi Mia and General Secretary of the Phulchhari Upazila Awami League, said, "I am still optimistic to win the election here as I have the popularity and support of the people.”
She also said, "I am a soldier of Bangabandhu. I am here today to contest the election as an independent candidate. Please pray for me. I will go and tell Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina that I want to finish the unfinished tasks of my father in Saghata-Phulchari.”
Hearing the information, the local activists and supporters of Bubly expressed their happiness and distributed sweets.
In addition, a festive atmosphere was created among the people, including the leaders and workers of the local Awami League and all associate organizations.
Samrat Mia of Hat Bharkhali of Saghata upazila said, "We are very happy as her (Bubly) nomination has been declared valid, and I think she will become victorious in the upcoming parliamentary elections on January 7, 2024.”
Taju Mia, a resident of Kanchipara Union of Phulchari upazila, said, "We wanted to foil all the conspiracies and desired that Bubly would get her candidacy to vie for the election. And that has become possible today. She (Bubly) is a competent candidate here.”
