
BSF pushes back 9 Bangladeshis, handed over to families thru' Phulbari Police Station

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) pushed back nine Bangladeshi citizens, including women and children, through the Dharmapur border in Kashipur Union of Phulbari Upazila, Kurigram on Thursday noon.
They were pushed back into Bangladesh near International Border Pillar No. 945 along the Kashipur border. Subsequently, members of the Kashipur BGB camp rescued the nine individuals and handed them over to Phulbari Police Station on Thursday afternoon.
Kashipur Company Commander Subedar Zahid, under Lalmonirhat 15 BGB Battalion, stated that the BSF pushed them back through the area between Khetaber’s Kuti and Jhikari camps. Later, patrolling BGB members rescued them and handed them over to the police station. The nine individuals are Baidul Islam (65), his wife Mosa: Amiron Begum (45), daughter Rumi Khatun (20), son-in-law Apel (29), grandson Hridoy (3), Mosa: Mina Begum (30), her husband Joynal Abedin, their daughters Jui (10) and Mim (7), and son Nur Hamid (7), father Aminul Islam. All of them are residents of Khamar village in Chandrakhana Bazar, Phulbari Upazila, Kurigram.
Phulbari Police Station OC Abdus Salam said, the BGB rescued the nine pushed-back individuals and handed them over to the police station in the afternoon.

A GD entry was recorded at the police station regarding this matter. After verifying their identities, they were handed over to their families in the presence of local public representatives and relatives.
