
Bridge washed away by hill flood water in Chunarughat

The wooden bridge built over a canal on the Mirashi-Garamchhara road in Chunarughat Upazila of Habiganj has been washed away by the waters of a hill flood.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning (20 July). Upon seeing the bridge being swept away, local residents tied it to a tree to prevent it from drifting further.
According to locals, thousands of people used this bridge daily for commuting.
Despite repeated demands by the residents over a long period for a permanent bridge, no such initiative has been taken. This wooden bridge had been their only means of crossing.
With it now washed away, students going to school and local residents are facing severe difficulties.
They have urged the authorities to repair the temporary bridge immediately and construct a permanent one without delay.
