
BRAC University holds orientation for Fall 2025 semester students

BRAC University welcomed Fall 2025 semester students through an orientation on the Merul Badda campus on Monday. with Anti-Corruption Commission Chairman Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen as the chief guest.
The present generation dreams of building Bangladesh anewthe foundation of which is good governance, human development, and justice, said Momen.
I believe you can make Bangladesh truly prosperous. You have shown that, I believe you can, he said, encouraging the students to be guided by the life and philosophy of Sir Fazle Hasan Abed.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Syed Ferhat Anwar advised students to act responsibly towards the country, nation and society.
We all have to work together for the welfare of humanity. That is why the Creator sent us to this world, he said, advising to refrain from indiscriminately using the internet and artificial intelligence.
Nowadays, whenever we need to know something, we go to the internet. There is a lot of false information on the internet. We should gain knowledge and help others to do so through discussions, education and understanding, he said.
We are all unique. We all have to find our unique qualities and work towards the betterment of society through them, said the vice-chancellor.
At the orientation program, students were introduced to the rich history of BRAC University and the educational philosophy of the universitys founder, Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, through audiovisuals.
BRAC Universitys commitment to quality education was also highlighted through the showcasing of various facilities such as the Residential Semester and club activities.
Awards were presented to four students at the program for their recent achievements.
Farha Hassan Priti of the electrical and electronic engineering (EEE) department was recognized for leading student team BRACU ALTER in becoming champions of IDEA Innovation 5.0.
Nafim Karim Khan, also of the EEE department, was recognized for becoming one of eight Bangladeshi university students who were adjudged winners of Huaweis Seeds for the Future 2025 Bangladesh.
Ratul Hasan and Taznia Tabassum Onon of the computer science and engineering department were recognized for becoming second runner-up at bdapps Innovation Summit 2025.
Registrar Dr. David Dowland welcomed students through a video message.
Other speakers included Professor Samia Haque, Dean of the School of General Education, Proctor Dr. Rubana Ahmed, and Professor Arshad Mahmud Chowdhury, Dean of the BSRM School of Engineering.
The event was moderated by Tahsina Rahman, Joint Director of Student Life.
The program ended with a cultural program with members of student club Monon performing a dance.
