Body of unidentified youth recovered from river bank after receiving 999 call

Police have recovered the body of an unidentified young man from Companiganj, Noakhali.
The body was recovered from a turtle farm adjacent to the banks of the Bamni River in the Closure area of Muchapur Union of the upazila at around 11:30 am on Tuesday (July 15).
Police and locals said that in the morning, locals saw the body lying on a block on the bank of the Bamni River in the Muchapur Closure area of the upazila. Later, they called the national emergency service number 999 and informed the police about the matter. He was wearing a red T-shirt and white pajamas. Upon receiving the information, the police recovered the body from the side of the turtle farm adjacent to the Bamni River at around 11:30 am. Although the body of the young man was recovered, his name and address could not be revealed. Since the body of the deceased young man was swollen, it is believed that he died 4-5 days ago. However, the initial autopsy report did not find any signs of injury on the body.
In this regard, Inspector (Investigation) Bimal Karmakar, who is in charge of the OC of Companiganj Police Station, said, "The police are working to identify the deceased. The body has been recovered and sent to the morgue of the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital for autopsy. The cause of death can be confirmed after the autopsy report is submitted."
