BNP relieves four leaders over alleged misconduct

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has relieved four leaders from their positions as directed by the party's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
A notice signed by Shaukat Alam Khaza, joint convener of the Chattogram city BNP and in charge of the office, was issued on Thursday (Nov 21).
The notice accused the leaders of aiding fascist collaborators and obstructing the duties of law enforcement agencies.
The relieved leaders are: Abdus Sattar Selim, president of Akbar Shah Thana BNP; Rehan Uddin, vice-president of the same unit; Zameer Ahmed, president of North Pahartali Ward-9 BNP; and Ilyas Khan, former member secretary of Akbar Shah Thana Jubo Dal.
According to notice, they were relieved of all responsibilities in the party and its associate bodies under the directive of Tarique Rahman.
The decision is effective immediately, the notice added.
