A discussion meeting and distribution of leaflets on BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s declared 31-point program were held on.Friday  afternoon at the field of Amtail Secondary School in Sreepur upazila of Magura district.

The event was presided over by Bakiul Alam Baki, former General Secretary of Sabdalpur Union BNP. The chief guest of the meeting was Alhaj Ali Ahmed, Convener of Magura District BNP.

Special guests included District BNP Joint Convener Aminur Rahman Khan Pikul; former Central Jubo Dal Joint General Secretary Alamgir Hasan Sohan; former Upazila BNP General Secretary and District BNP member Alhaj Khondokar Abbas Uddin; former Upazila BNP Organizing Secretaries Khondokar Khalilur Rahman and Molla Khalilur Rahman; former Upazila Volunteer Dal President K.M. Mokid Hasan; and former Upazila Chhatra Dal leader Zahurul Islam Milon.

Among others present were former District BNP President and current member of the District BNP Convening Committee Advocate Abdur Rashid; former Upazila BNP President and member of the District Convening Committee Ashraful Alam Joardar; and former Upazila BNP Joint General Secretary Ashraful Islam Nalim, among others.

Speakers at the event said that no kind of delay or manipulation in the name of a referendum will be tolerated. They stated that BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman was the mastermind behind the July Revolution. They accused a certain party of trying to delay the upcoming election through various excuses. These conspirators, they claimed, were the same forces who opposed Bangladesh’s independence in 1971 and are now conspiring anew against the country.

The speakers emphasized that such conspiracies will never succeed on the soil of Bangladesh and called upon everyone to work unitedly toward implementing Tarique Rahman’s 31-point program.
