Begum Rokeya’s struggle and today's women

Until 1829 when the practice of sati-immolation was abolished, it was the cruelest and most atrocious act against women. Raja Rammohan Roystood up against it. Moreover, the practice of widow marriage was also a revolutionary step.
It is to be noted here that all the cruel practices that have emerged over the ages which are known as the hallmarks of patriarchal society have all been created for the exploitation of women. For their well-being only the interior was. But the rebel poet has said that half of the great creation of the world is the contribution of women.
Women got the courage to break the imprisoning walls by holding the hand of Begum Rokeya. Begum Rokeya’s writing gave her the strength to speak about her rights. It was at her hands that women learned to understand that they are not just slaves to men. Hundreds of years ago, the dream of empowering and establishing the rights of women was sown by Rokeya, today we see its reflection. Today, women are victorious in the empowerment of world leadership. That's what happens. Sultana's Dream is a unique creation of Begum Rokeya.
It is one of the works in the awakening of women's consciousness. Also, she has expressed his consciousness in books such as Avarodavasini, Padmaraga, Matichur etc.\
Payaraband village of Rangpur district. The Year of 1880. Women are still born today. The difference is huge. Today, women are able to do housework and outdoor work without any problems. From door to working in space. Begum Rokeya was born in a strict patriarchal society when women were trapped in the trap of bad culture and misogynistic rules.
The structure of society was drifting in such a way that women had to live within strict rules. Satisfying the thirst for knowledge was also very difficult then. Begum Rokeya is called the pioneer of women's movement. A discussion of his life explains why he is called a pioneer. At the time she was born, English education, let alone the education of girls, was forbidden. Women's work was limited to childbearing, rearing and domestic work. Expressing opinions even within one's own family was a difficult task. There was very little opportunity to go outside.
As she grew up, she discovered that the outside world was not for him. It is only occupied by men. She was taught Arabic and Urdu at home. But the one who gets addicted to knowledge cannot be stopped. Begum Rokeya's elder brother Ibrahim was a modern mind. He taught Bengali and English to Begum Rokeya. But it is hidden from other family members.
Even though her family was against English education, she was able to come in contact with modern-minded people like her elder brother. Which further fueled his thirst for knowledge in the afterlife. She was able to wake up herself because she had such meditation for education and became the pioneer of women's awakening. Where awakening oneself is quite a difficult task, she has also done the task of awakening others with skillful hands.
With her hand, she played a strong role in the realization of women's rights. However, I think that Begum Rokeya's role cannot be properly assessed by simply saying that she was the pioneer of women's awakening. Because the environment from which he received her English education and subsequently wrote literature in Bengali and English mediums must also be taken into consideration. Although most of her have played an active role in women's rights, she also teaches a strong penchant for reading. He also did a good job of making men aware of women's rights. Begum Rokeya's husband is the person who is behind the development of Begum Rokeya's literary pursuits.
In 1898, at the age of 18, she was married to Syed Sakhawat Hossain, Deputy Magistrate of Bhagalpur. Begum Rokeya became known as Begum Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain after joining her husband Sakhawat Hossain. After receiving education in her own house in the company of Begum Rokeya's elder brother, she got full opportunity to practice literature in the company of her husband. Because Sakhawat Hussain was a free-spirited person.
He not only created a liberal environment for his wife to study literature, but also set aside money to build a school. This shows his intellectual mind. The environment that also played a role in establishing Begum Roka's afterlife. More than a hundred years ago, Begum Rokeya's bravery and generosity are still being followed and emulated in the advancement of women.
Through her writings, she has shown that women are not just objects of consumption. Begum Rokeya was far ahead of the women of that time in her thinking and meditation. Even in today's modern era, when many women are hesitant to speak up for their rights, she has shown a strong spirit through her actions. She explained that age is not a barrier, the barrier is the will power, the mindset to express. And so the name of Begum Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain has been an inspiration to women and men throughout the ages as a pioneer of women's awakening. Because her activities were not limited to writing. She also engaged himself in social and organizational work. Moreover, it was a challenge to start a school with only 8 students at that time. Her hard work, thinking power motivates any women.
The realization of women's rights, expanded from Begum Rocare's dream, is going a long way today. Although that consumerist mindset still exists in many areas today, it can be said that great progress has been made in realizing women's rights. Begum Rokeya has sown the seeds of women's freedom of thought in her actions, in her efforts, it can be said that the women's society will carry it today and hundreds of years from now. Because despite the progress in the realization of rights, atrocities are still happening against women. Even today, the disease of rape haunts the despicable men. In public streets, people are hacked and wounded or killed for not consenting to filthy propositions. Even today, the mindset of seeing women as commodities remains. However, the path women are moving forward with the hand of Begum Rokeya will one day achieve complete success.
