Barguna District School wins divisional title in Prime Bank National School Cricket Tournament

Barguna District School won a resounding victory in the final of the Barisal divisional phase of the 'Prime Bank National School Cricket Tournament 2025-26' held in Barguna.
The team won the divisional championship by defeating Pirojpur Government High School by 6 wickets in the final match held at Barguna District Stadium on Monday.
After winning the toss, Pirojpur Government High School elected to bat first and scored 99 runs in 32.2 overs, losing all their wickets. No one from the team was able to play a big innings. The controlled bowling of the bowlers of Barguna District School put the opposing team under pressure from the start.
In reply, Barguna Zilla School scored 100 runs in just 15.1 overs, losing 4 wickets. The team's batsmen played confidently and aggressively, reaching the target quickly.
After the game, a closing and award ceremony was organized at the district stadium. Teachers, coaches, sports-loving spectators and people from different classes and professions spontaneously participated in the ceremony. The entire stadium became lively with the lively event.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Animesh Biswas was present as the chief guest on behalf of Deputy Commissioner Ms. Taslima Akhter. He presented trophies and prizes to the players of the winning and runner-up teams.
In his speech as the chief guest, Animesh Biswas said that such tournaments play an important role in getting young students interested in sports. Sports help in increasing the students' sense of discipline, leadership qualities and self-confidence.
