BNP candidate for Barguna-2 (Bamna, Betagi-Patharghata) constituency, Central Vice Chairman Nurul Islam Moni, said, "A group of people who are already misleading the common people by promising them paradise, justice, fairness and heaven, are they? Will they be able to go to paradise themselves - this is a deception with a common man, the common people of this country and the brothers and sisters of the Hindu community saw in 1971? So I have a clear statement for the Hindu brothers and sisters."
He said these at a BNP election rally at the Government Bamna Degree College ground in Bamna upazila of Barguna at 4:30 pm on Saturday.
At the time, he also said that he wants security of life. Security of life, property and religion. If BNP comes to power in the next election and if I become an MP, then 100 percent security of life will be given to all Hindus in Barguna-2 constituency. And if anyone looks at Hindus with crooked eyes, their eyes will be plucked out. In the meantime, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman announced a 51-point manifesto to build a welfare-oriented and prosperous Bangladesh.
He further said that I have contributed to all the developments in this area. If I have taken any bribe from anyone in return for any work in the past, then you will not vote for me. And if I have done good work, you will vote for me and make me victorious. On the 12th, at 6 am, you will all go to the polling station. Do not leave the station without going to the center and collecting the results. If I am eligible, then you will vote for me and elect me. I am a candidate from the paddy field.
Asking the voters whether they will vote for the paddy, he said, "You all know me. But how many of you know the candidate for the scales, Dr. Sultan Saheb? Can you tell me what development he has done in Bamna-Betagi-Patharghata in the past? I built this college ground, I have been to this ground hundreds of times. But how many times has Sultan Saheb come in the past, you tell me. Thousands of people raised their hands and said that he has not come even once."
The public meeting was chaired by Bamna Upazila BNP Election Committee Convener Engineer Abul Kalam Azad Rana, and among others, the members of the Election Steering Committee, Md. Ruhul Amin Sharif, former member secretary of the Upazila BNP, Khandaker Mohidul Islam Morshed, former organizing secretary Salahuddin Hawlader, and leaders of the Upazila BNP's organs and associate organizations, among others, spoke.
