Director General Bangladesh Coast Guard Rear Admiral Mir Ershad Ali visited the coastal area bordering Teknaf on Sunday noon.

He said that the Bangladesh Coast Guard is on high alert in the coastal border of Bangladesh due to the internal instability of neighboring countries.
Due to the unstable situation inside Myanmar, Myanmar army, BGP and civilian members are often trying to enter Bangladesh through Ghumdhum and Tumbru border of Naikxyongchari upazila of Bandarban.
The recent ongoing conflict between the Myanmar Army and the Arakan Army has seen various attempts to take advantage of the prevailing volatile situation, including human trafficking, smuggling, drug smuggling, etc.
As a result, Bangladesh Coast Guard has maintained a strong presence in the Naf River and adjacent areas and other coastal areas through modern high-speed boats and patrol vessels. Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard are always keeping a watchful eye through regular patrolling in the border areas.
