Leaders of Bangladesh Bhumihin Andolon, Central Committee paid tributes to eminent artist Appollo Jamali at the Central Shaheed Minar at 10 am on Friday.

Bangladesh Bhumihin Andolon Chief Advisor and Chief Coordinator of the State Reform Movement Adv Hasnat Qayyum, Bangladesh Bhumihin Andolon General Secretary Sheikh Nasir Uddin, Joint General Secretary Chamiul Alam Rasu, labour leader and Convener of the State Workers' Movement Md. Mintu Mia, women leader of the State Reform Movement Zakia Shishir, honorary member of the State Reform Movement freedom fighter Mahmud Jamal Quaderi, and others paid tributes.

Sheikh Nasir Uddin said, Apollo Jamali was a man of many qualities and dedicated his life for the common people. He has fought various movements for the hardworking people. The multi-dimensional Apollo Jamali himself has become an institution. He did not marry or have a family, he is spending his life lighting the fire in the homes of the hardworking workers who have been beaten and oppressed, he is finding his own meaning in life on the path of human rights and liberation.

Politician, cultural activist and mass music artist Apollo Jamali passed away on March 2, 2025.

He was a cultural figure and mass music artist and a member of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Workers Party.

He died at 12:30 pm on Sunday while undergoing treatment at the Heart Hospital in Dhaka. He was 65 years old at the time of his death.

He has been suffering from heart disease, diabetes and lung problems for a long time. Jamali has been involved in revolutionary political activities for 45 years of his life. He served as the General Secretary of the Samhati Sanskriti Sangsad. He also played an important role in the mass culture front. He was the author, composer and singer of many popular mass songs. In any disaster, he stood by the masses by sacrificing everything.
