Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is the embodiment of the independence of Bengal

Ziauddin Liton

On March 17, 1920, the house of Sheikh Lutfar Rahman and his wife Saira Khatun in Tungipara of Gopalganj district, surrounded by the Madhumati and Ghagor rivers, in the natural environment of Haor-Baor, brought light to the whole of India and later became a Bengali Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the leader of the nation and the architect of freedom.

After his birth, his parents lovingly named him 'Khoka'. Khokai, that dashing teenage boy of Tungipara, once soaked in his foresight, infinite courage and inherent love of people, emerged as a beacon of Bengali liberation in the cloudy skies of Bengali. Sheikh Mujib, that dashing teenager of Tungipara, finally came and was not limited only to Tungipara, at a mature age, he became the leader of the exploited, deprived and neglected masses of Bengal, India and the world, the dreamer of independent Bengal and the architect of independence and the father of the Bengali nation.

Bangabandhu is the name of a great warrior. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is an outstanding personality of love for country and people, humanity and infinite courage. To face the enemy who never retreated. His outstanding personality won the hearts of people of all classes of Bengal with love and humanity. He was a visionary, a peddler of humanity, a man of bold brilliance, a painter, a writer and a poet of politics. Therefore, the poets of the country and abroad have written songs, stories, poems, plays about this poet of politics. As much as local and foreign writers have written about him, there are very few statesmen who have been written about so much.

A country needs a leader to achieve independence. Like Leylin of Russia (former Soviet Union), Mahatma Gandhi of India, George Washington of the United States, Mao Zedong of China, Sukarno of Indonesia, Ho Chi-Minh of Vietnam, Fidel Castro of Cuba, Patrice Lumamba and Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, Nelson Mandela of South Africa, Marshall Tito of Yugoslavia.

Bangabandhu is also a living example of his outstanding patriotism and self-sacrifice.And so he is not only the Bangabandhu of Bengali but also world-class and world-renowned, well-established as an inevitable and integral chapter of world history. In political life, he never hid for fear of arrest. He did not leave his house on that terrible night of March 25 despite knowing that he would die. After 23 years of freedom movement under his leadership, in 1971, the freedom-seeking people of Bengal fought a liberation war with arms. Bangabandhu roused the Bengalis with the hypnotic power and magic touch of his leadership and inspired them with the mantra of freedom. Inspired by that mantra, the heroic Bengalis freed themselves from the clutches of the enemy and formed an independent sovereign state.

Bangabandhu was not only a dreamer of a state, but he was able to make that dream a reality by uniting the Bengali nation in a unique bond of unity. Therefore, the independent sovereign Bangladesh and Bangabandhu are one and inseparable part of the red green flag.

Various active movements of anti-British movement have started in the politics of the Indian subcontinent. In his political career, Bangabandhu was motivated by the motto of the Russian Revolution in favor of the exploited. He was moved by the patriotism of the anti-British revolutionaries. And Gandhi was attracted to Nehru's systematic movement. And the non-sectarian Bengali nationalism of Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das was deeply embedded in his heart. Netaji Subhash Bose's Swadeshi movement inspired the young Sheikh Mujib to a great extent. Bangabandhu held his identity, his culture, tradition, social and political history of undivided India deep in his heart.

About 52 years ago, standing at the juncture of an era in Bengali history, he uttered from the bottom of his heart, "You can't hold back"The father of the Bengali nation, who was oppressed by the colonial and neo-colonial regimes, was able to make such a bold statement on that day, keeping in mind the long-standing tradition of self-sacrifice for the greater welfare of the people of this land. So he wrote in 'Jail Diary', 'When the people of this country learn to lay down their lives for their rightful rights, victory will come, it is only a matter of time.'The nation under the leadership of Bangabandhu proved his words in just nine months from 26th March to 16th December- In the period up to 1971.

The spirit of independence and nationalism was embedded in the language movement of 1952. After that, the movement for governance, United Front elections, the education movement of 62, the six-point movement, the Agartala conspiracy case, the mass movement of the 70s, the elections of the 70s are all milestones of that struggle.

Bangabandhu's Awami League won 288 seats out of 300 seats in the provincial elections. This victory of Bengalis can be called landslide victory Landslight Victory. Despite this, the Pakistani ruling group made excuses to hand over power, which led to the birth of the 1971 independence struggle. Since the beginning of March, the non-cooperation movement throughout the country was in turmoil. On March 7, a historic speech was delivered in the thunderous voice of Bangabandhu, the fearless soldier of politics, at the race course public meeting.

The speech was an unmistakable call for freedom. It was not just a speech, it was a unique poem of the heart desires of the people of Bengal. The poem was recited by the author for 19 minutes in a highly symbolic style. After Yahya Khan's departure from Dhaka late on March 25, the Pakistan Army launched Operation Searchlight, the worst massacre in the history of the world, according to the blueprint of the then ruling elite. At night, Bangabandhu told all his colleagues to take shelter in a safe place but went to number 32 by himself. From there he was arrested and taken to West Pakistan. We all know the history of the Bengali movement and struggle against the Pakistani ruling group under the leadership of Bangabandhu. The country became independent after 9 months of bloody war.

Poets imagine, think, dream. Poetry is the portrait of their dreams. Bangabandhu also dreamed about politics, that dream was to bring freedom to a people, to give an independent sovereign state. Like poets, Bangabandhu gave shape to his dreams. The poem written by Bangabandhu broke the chains of subjugation and became our beloved motherland Bangladesh.

A cruel irony of fate, after only four and a half years, on August 15, 1975, a painful and scandalous chapter began in the life of the Bengali nation. With the direct and indirect help of domestic and foreign conspirators, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the Bengali nation, was killed with his family at his residence in Dhanmondi by some misguided members of the army. According to the documents released by the United States, how many true patriots and honest people were brutally killed on August 15. Their administrative skills may be questioned but their patriotism and integrity are unquestionable. Bangabandhu and Bangladesh are therefore one and inseparable. Bangabandhu is the embodiment of independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh.
