In Bagerhat district, freedom fighter, former member of parliament and independent candidate for Bagerhat-1, 2 and 3 constituencies in the upcoming national parliamentary elections, M.A.H. Selim visited the grave of martyr Alif Ahmed Siam to pay his deep respect.
On Thursday evening, he went to visit the grave of martyr Alif Ahmed Siam in Banshbaria village of Dema Union in Bagerhat Sadar Upazila. At this time, prayers and supplications were offered for the forgiveness of the martyr's soul.
After visiting the grave, M.A.H. Selim said, Martyr Alif Ahmed Siam in the July Movement is a courageous symbol of the country's struggle for democracy, justice and anti-discrimination. His sacrifice will inspire the new generation.
He further said that in order to repay the blood debt of the martyrs, a just society and democracy must be established in the country. At that time, he paid deep respect to the martyrs and injured of the July Movement and said that the nation will forever remember the sacrifice of the 9 people who were martyred in the July Movement in Bagerhat.
M. A. H. Selim said that he will always be by the side of the family of martyr Alif Ahmed Siam. He also mentioned that after his martyrdom, he gave one lakh taka to the martyr's father.
He further said that as a freedom fighter, I can never forget the sacrifice of the July fighters. They fought for the second time to establish the country's independence and democracy. Local leaders, the martyr's father, relatives and common people were present at that time. Sohel Rana Babu, the martyr's father, relatives and common people were present.
