BADC storekeeper in Noakhali arrested in explosives case

Police arrested Miraz Hossain Shanto (35), a storekeeper of BADC in Noakhali Sadar and a Jubo League leader on Wednesday morning. The matter was confirmed by Sudharam Model Police Station OC Md. Kamrul Islam. He said that around 8:45 p.m. last night, locals apprehended him in front of the government residential area in Maijdee. He was later detained and handed over to Lakshmipur Police Station the same night.Arrested Shanto is a member of the Jubo League in Kamalnagar Upazila of Lakshmipur and son of Md. Shahjahan of the same area. He was serving as a storekeeper for BADC in Noakhali.Locals said, Shanto was involved in Jubo League politics in Lakshmipur. He was accused of being involved in attacks on anti-discrimination student activists. In addition, with his incitement and support, multiple attacks occurred in different police stations across the district. Shanto was also an accused in a case regarding an attack on a journalist in Noakhali. Being involved in ruling party politics, he disregarded government rules and regulations in his job.
