With the slogan "Keep our yards clean, let's stay healthy together," an awareness rally, mosquito eradication, and cleanliness drive were held in Louhajang Upazila of Munshiganj to prevent dengue. As part of a national program, the initiative was organized by the Louhajang Upazila Administration on Saturday at Upazila Parishad premises.

At the beginning of the program, a colorful rally was brought out from the Upazila Parishad premises. The rally paraded the main roads of the upazila to spread awareness among the general public. Following the rally, a cleanliness drive was conducted, and mosquito larvicide operations were carried out to destroy breeding sites.

The event was attended by Farzana Boby Mitu, UNO Louhajang, Md. Erfanur Rahman, Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Dr. Fahmida Laskar, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer.

Medical officers from the Upazila Health Complex, officials and employees from various government departments, members of the Village Police, representatives from educational institutions, members of social organizations, and a large number of local residents also participated in the program

UNO Farzana Boby Mitu emphasized the importance of increasing awareness at both personal and social levels to prevent dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases. She also distributed leaflets to create public awareness. Furthermore, she urged everyone to keep their houses, yards, roofs, and surroundings clean, advising special caution to ensure that water does not accumulate anywhere.

Through this program, a strong commitment was expressed to raise public awareness against dengue and build a healthy, safe, and clean environment. Additionally, imams of all mosques across the upazila were requested to deliver awareness speeches regarding dengue prevention before Jumma prayers.
