Prominent sports organizer Asif Siraj Rabbani, a distinguished son of Bogra, has been appointed as the newly- elected Director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Chairman of its Media and Communication Committee.

Rabbani, who contested and won the BCB director's post as a councilor from the Shinepukur Cricket Club, was assigned to this highly crucial portfolio following the distribution of responsibilities among the board's new board of directors.

The assignment follows a high-level board meeting held on June 9, 2026, where the structural approvals for several vital permanent standing committees of the country's apex cricket body were finalized. According to the core decisions of the meeting, iconic cricketer Tamim Iqbal Khan has stepped into an administrative role as the Chairman of the Working Committee. Alongside this, Fahim Sinha has been entrusted with the leadership of the Game Development Committee, while Shaniyan Tanim Naveen has secured double responsibilities as the Chairman of both the Grounds Committee and the High Performance (HP) Committee.

In other major leadership distributions, former chief selector Minhajul Abedin has assumed the role of Chairman for the Age-Group Tournament Committee, with Md. Shafiqul Alam assigned as its Vice-Chairman. The Marketing Committee will be spearheaded by Masuduzzaman as its Chief, while the newly minted Media Chief Asif Rabbani will additionally assist him as the Vice-Chairman of this wing. Legal and structural oversight under the Disciplinary Committee will be managed by Abdul Kaiyum Chowdhury as Chairman and Mirza Faisal Amin as Vice-Chairman. Furthermore, the responsibility for steering the BCB Women’s Wing has been given to Md. Rafiqul Islam Babu. Financial matters will be supervised by Israfil Khosru as the Finance Committee Chairman, and Syed Ibrahim Ahmed has been selected to head the Security Committee.

The board also reshuffled its operational logistics and domestic event structures. The main Tournament Committee will now be chaired by Sirajuddin Md. Alamgir, with S M Abdullah Al Fuad serving as the Vice-Chairman. Yasir Mohammad Faisal Ashik has secured the chairmanship of the Logistics and Protocol Committee, supported by Finance Chief Israfil Khosru as its Vice-Chairman. Meanwhile, the complex Umpires Committee has been placed under the leadership of Mirza Yaser Abbas.

To wrap up the primary allocations, Tamim Iqbal Khan has been given his second major portfolio as the Chairman of the Facilities Management Committee, positioning him as a central figure in the board's incoming infrastructural operations.
