Ashiyan Group's MD sued by ACC for grabbing govt land

The Anti-Corruption Commission on Tuesday filed a case against Ashiyan Group managing director Md Nazrul Islam Bhuiyan on charges of grabbing government land in Barua, Uttar Khan, and Dakshin Khan areas of Dhaka.
The ACC's assistant director, Neyamul Ahsan Gazi, filed the case with its integrated district office in Dhaka-1, said ACC Public Relations Officer Akhtarul Islam.
According to the case, Nazrul Islam Bhuiyan, also managing director of Ashiyan Lands Development Limited, illegally occupied 7.8925 acres of government Khas Khatiya land in Barua, Dakshinkhan, and Uttarkhan Mouza under the Dhaka Cantonment Revenue Circle.
The accused grabbed the land under the Ashiyan City Housing Project by filling the lands with sand and sold plots to the people through forgery.
