Arrival of Dr Yunus to attend UNGA : BNP-AL's counter programmes in New York

The Chief Adviser of the Interim Government of Bangladesh on the way to New York to attend the 79th United Nations General Session.
BNP and Awami League have given counter programmes centering the arrival of Dr Muhammad Yunus. BNP will welcome him while Awami League has planned to protest against him.
US Awami League President Dr Siddiqur Rahman along with other leaders have announced the protest rally in JFK Air Port at 10 pm on Monday and in front of UN Headquarters during Dr Yunus's speech at UN on September 27.
It is learnt that the head of the government is on the way for New York a day before because of meeting with the President of the United States Joe Biden has been fixed during the United Nations General Session.
After taking over as chief adviser, this is the first foreign visit of Yunus. He will address the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 27. He is scheduled to leave for Dhaka later that night.
Meanwhile, BNP and Awami League held several preparatory meetings to make their programmes a success.
According to the decision of the BNP meeting, BNP, they have opposed the head of government in the last 16 years, now will welcome the chief adviser of the Interim Government Dr Muhammad Yunus.
At the same time, justice will be sought for murder-disappearance-torture and looting during the Awami League government.
Zakir H Chowdhury, former Joint General Secretary of United States BNP said that it has been decided to welcome the Chief Adviser organizationally. He said, on the day of the Chief Adviser's speech to demand justice for murder-disappearance-torture during Sheikh Hasina's tenure, BNP will stand in front of UN Headquarters and demand justice for murder-disappearance-torture and looting during the government's tenure.
It is known that in addition to the main program Dr. Yunus will have a courtesy meeting with the heads of various UN agencies. In addition, Dr. Yunus is scheduled to have courtesy calls on Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Bahrain Crown Prince Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Netherlands Prime Minister Dick Schoff, Maldives President Mohamed Muijju, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Also UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Falker Türk, World Bank President Ajay Banga, International Criminal Court (ICC) Chief Counsel Karim Khan, US Government Agency for International Development Director Samantha Power, UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, International Labor Organization (ILO) Director General. Gilbert F. Hongbo, including the head of many other organizations of the United Nations will make courtesy calls on Dr Muhammad Yunus.
