Army chief visits Puja pavilion in Ramna’s Kali Temple

Army chief Gen Waker-uz-Zaman has visited the Puja pavilion on Maha Ashtami, the eighth day of Durga Puja, at Ramna’s Kali Temple.
He greeted the Hindu devotees at the Puja venue and promised to ensure the coexistence of people of all religions in Bangladesh.
The army chief made the remarks on Friday afternoon after visiting the Puja premises.
He said: “I am very happy to see you all being able to celebrate the Puja in a festive and beautiful atmosphere. Our forces have been deployed all over the country. We guarantee your safety.”
“It has been smooth so far. We strongly believe that you will be able to beautifully celebrate the remaining days.”
The army chief expressed hope that people of all religions will continue to coexist in Bangladesh, saying: “Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, and Christians have lived in harmony for centuries. We will continue to coexist in the future, just as we have in the past.”
“I am very happy to have been able to visit and greet you all at this three-hundred-year-old temple. We are here to celebrate Puja and share the joy with you,” he said.
