
Apurba accused of contract breach, money embezzlement

Popular actor Ziaul Faruq Apurba has been accused of money embezzlement, contract breach and schedule manipulation by production company Alpha-i.
A legal notice was sent to Apurba, and accusations of financial loss were lodged with the Television & Digital Program Producers’ Association of Bangladesh (Telepab) and Actors Equity Bangladesh by Alpha-i’s managing director, Shahriar Karim Bhuiyan (Shahriar Shakil).
According to the notice, the actor signed a contract worth 50 lakh taka for acting in 24 dramas with Alpha-i. Apurba took thirty-three lakhs taka and refrained from all communication after working in only 9 dramas. Due to this, the production company has faced financial loss.
In response, Apurba has also sent a letter to Telepab and Actors’ Equity defending his stance regarding the matter.
About the complaint, actor Apurba said to the media that he does not want to comment on the matter as he is proceeding with the legal process now.
