It has been alleged that Awami League affiliate Chhatra League and Jubo League have attacked the program of anti-discrimination student movement in Cumilla .45people were injured. Among them, 10 students have been admitted to different hospitals in the city with bullet wounds.

This incident took place in the race course area of Cumilla city around 1:15 on Saturday. Angry students set fire to the car of the Upazila Assistant Commissioner (AC Land) at Chandina, Cumilla on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway at around 1:00 am on Saturday. It is known that according to the central program of the anti- discrimination student movement in Cumilla , the students took a stand in front of Cumilla District School at 10 am.

At the same time of this program, the leaders and activists of Awami League and Jubo League took a position in front of the stadium. As a result, a tense situation has arisen as both sides have faced each other. Going to the ground, it can be seen that around 12 noon, the students of various educational institutions of Cumilla gathered in the police line area of the city to express solidarity with the protesting students, when the protesting students chanted different slogans for the nine-point demand, the miscreants fired at them.

During this time, several female students were seriously injured. Later they were rescued and sent to Cumilla Medical College. After removing the students from the same place, the Cumilla Metropolitan Awami League organisation took a stand. At 1:00 pm, when the students of Cumilla District School again took position in the police line area, there was another clash between the Awami League leaders and workers and the students.

Miscreants ambushed. The agitating students said that around 10 o'clock in the morning, the students started gathering at Cumilla District School premises for the protest march. At one point, students broke the lock on the gate of the district school and entered inside. Later, when they wanted to go to Kandirpar area of the city with a protest march, the leaders and workers of Awami League and organizations gathered in Newmarket area.

As a result, the students again took position in front of the district school road and started mass march and protest rally. Leaders and workers of Awami League shot at our peaceful procession, tortured our classmate's daughter students. At least ten of our students were shot. At that time, the incident took place in the Cumilla Police Line area, but despite the presence of police and BGB, they were seen in their silent role. Earlier, the pre-arranged protest march started in front of Kandirpar District School in the city in the morning.

Later, the agitating students stayed at Pubali Chattar, the heart of Cumilla and at one point a section of the agitating students stayed at the Cumilla police line. Apart from this, the leaders of Awami League, Jubo League and organisations took positions at various points of Cumilla city since morning. Jannatul Eva, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, said, "I heard that many of us were injured. We condemn the attack. How many people have been injured has not yet received accurate information, but more than 50 people have been admitted to the hospital.

Cumilla Metropolitan Awami League General Secretary Atiqullah Khokon made several calls to find out about this matter, but he could not be contacted. Chandina Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Soumya Sarkar said, 'We were returning the students calmly to Chandina on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway. At that time UNO and I were in the car. Suddenly angry people set fire to my car. At this time we got out of the car. In this regard, Cumilla Superintendent of Police Saidur Islam said, "We heard that there was a clash between two groups, no one was killed, police are at the scene, now the atmosphere is calm."
