AL blocks Dhaka-Khulna highway demanding Hasina’s return

Leaders and activists of Awami League and its affiliated bodies blocked the Dhaka-Khulna highway for two hours at Gopaganj district’s Kashiani upazila on Thursday afternoon, demanding steps for ensuring Sheikh Hasina’s return to the country.
Thousands of Awami League (AL) men blocked the crucial road with sharp local weapons, blocking vehicular movement on both sides.
At the demonstration, an Awami League leader demanded justice for the conspiracy by a vested group to evict Sheikh Hasina from the country through student protests.
Earlier, on Thursday morning, about 15 thousand party members from the Tungipara upazila held a protest march with the same demand, and afterwards vowed to continue their movement in the coming days. They also prayed for the safety and good health of Sheikh Hasina.
