Ajmina Begum in trouble with her sick widowed mother in Jhenaigati

Khorshed Alam, Sherpur

Ajmina Begum, a widowed woman in trouble with her sick mother Aklima Begum in Jhenaigati, Sherpur. Ajmina Begum (35) is the daughter of the late Abdus Chamad of Gomra village in Nalkura union of the upazila.

Abdus Chamad was a daily wage earner. There was a family of 5 members, including two  sons and one  daughter, who worked as daily wage earners. Two sons got married and left. Aklima Begum is suffering from various diseases. There is no one like a farmer. Widow Ajmina works in other people's houses and spends her days half-starved. If Ajmina Begum cannot go to work for a day, the stove at home does not light that day. She has to live half-starved.

Not only that. Due to financial crisis, Azmina Begum is unable to provide treatment for her sick mother, Aklima Begum. In addition, Aklima Begum's mud walled house has been demolished and the rice tins from the Mandata era have become unfit for living.

It is learnt  that even a little rain makes it difficult to sleep. Due to lack of money, it is not possible to build the house. As a result, mother Aklima and daughter Azmina Begum are living in extreme poverty. They cannot tell anyone or bear it. Even after going to local public representatives, nothing has been done.

Azmina Begum has appealed to the administration and philanthropists and well-informed people of the country for the treatment of her sick mother, Aklima Begum and for the renovation of the house. UNO  Md. Al Amin said that he would look into the matter.
