Agriculture Minister harvests paddy in Sunamganj

Agriculture Minister Abdus Shaheed has inaugurated the harvesting of paddy through combined harvester in haor of Sunamganj Sadar on Friday.
He inaugurated the paddy harvest at the village of Bahadurpur in Sunamganj Sadar Upazila. Speaking as the chief guest, he said that the current government is an agriculture-friendly government.
Today, the country is food self-sufficient under the leadership of leader Sheikh Hasina. The government is distributing agricultural machinery to farmers through subsidies.
We are distributing sufficient quantity of combined harvester machines to the farmers. There will be no shortage of paddy harvesting machines.
Fertilizer, seeds are being distributed free of charge. The price of rice paddy will be determined by the government to protect the interest of the farmer. Strict action will be taken against anyone who syndicates and lowers the price of paddy.
The minister handed over the keys of the combined harvester to the farmers and attended the discussion as the chief guest.
District Commissioner Mohammad Rashed Iqbal Chowdhury was presided over by Mohammad Ehsan Shah, General Secretary of Sunamganj District Awami League Noman Bakht Palin, Sunamganj Sadar Upazila Chairman Khairul Huda Chapal, Deputy Director of District Agriculture Extension Department Bimal Chandra Som.
