
Accused in Kishoreganj anti-discrimination student murder case roaming freely

The accused in the murder case of Abdul Qayyum Ahad (16), who was martyred in the anti-discrimination student movement in Jatrabari, Nilphamari's Kishoreganj Upazila Awami League leader Rashidul Islam, former Upazila Parishad Chairman, and Jubo League leader Rasheduzzaman Milton, are roaming around openly. The police are playing a silent role as if they are not even being seen. As a result, anger has been created among the common people.
According to the case sources, Abdul Qayyum Ahad (16), son of Ala Uddin, of Nabottampur village in Begumbazar upazila of Noakhali district, participated in the anti-quota movement in Jatrabari area along with anti-discrimination students and BNP. At that time, when the one-phase movement reached its peak, the autocratic government head Sheikh Hasina brought Awami terrorists from different districts of the country and united them with the police and started firing sound grenades, tear gas and bullets on the procession. At around 6 pm on July 18 last year, Qayyum was shot in the face and chest and fell to the ground in front of the police box under Kajla police station. Later, the Jatrabari police station took him to the police station and confirmed his death by brush fire. The armed terrorist group included Awami cadre Rashidul Islam, son of Rahimuddin from Patwaripara village of Magura union in Kishoreganj upazila of Nilphamari, and Jubo League cadre Rasheduzzaman alias Milton from the same village. In this incident, Qayyum's father Ala Uddin filed a murder case with Jatrabari police station against 468 named accused and 1,000 to 2,000 unknown accused.
Rasheduzzaman Milton are included in the case. Although the two accused are roaming around in Bir Darpe, they have not been arrested yet for unknown reasons.

When talking to Alauddin, the plaintiff of the case, on his mobile phone, he said that the police are being contacted all the time to arrest the accused.
When talking to Ramzanul Haque, OC (Investigation) of Jatrabari Police Station, he said that the investigation into the case is ongoing. If the investigation finds any evidence of their involvement, then they will be arrested.
