Absence of connecting road : Bridge built over Gulishakhali River in Amtali become useless, people of 20 villages suffering

The bridge built over the Gulishakhali canal at Amragachia in Amtali Upazila has been in useless in absence of connecting road. The ladder has to use to get over the bridge.
According to LGED sources, Gulishakhali, Kukua and Chawra, the three unions of Amtali upazila in 2021, have a 5 meter length of 5 meters on the west of Amragachia Bazar. The work was received by Messrs. Kahinur Enter Prize and Tripura JV, a contractor.
The contractor completed the construction of the main bridge before the scheduled period in June 2021, starting on May 7, 2012. But the hazard arises with the construction of the connecting roads. On the west side of the bridge, the road is at the top of the slopes of the bridge for the movement of East Khekuani village. Construction of the bridge design and height connection roads will shut down the road.
Serejamin has shown that the bridge has been on the road for 6 months without connecting the road. About 5,000 people of the three unions of the three unions have suffered. Locals are making wood and bamboo ladders on the west side of the bridge for transportation. By this ladder, the elderly and children are at risk of life. Due to the failure of any vehicles to get on the bridge, there are various obstacles to transporting goods. Ten km to transport the goods, they have to get the buffalo bridge. Extra fare is counting. In this, students of school -college, including business people, are in danger.
Talking to locals, it is reported that the bridge is connected to the three unions of Gulishakhali, Chawara and Kukua. Crossing this bridge, hundreds of people from Gulishakhali Union, Gulishakhali, Dalachara, Bibunia, Kalagachia village, moved across the country including Amtali Sadar, Barisal, Dhaka. The people of Chawara and Kukua Union also crossed the bridge and traveled to Gulishakhali Union. We have a lot of difficulty in the movement of the bridge for a long time. There are many problems especially in transporting goods, bringing patients. The body also has to face problems as the body is brought. They are demanding the construction of the bridge connecting roads soon.
Contractor Md Kawashar Mia said, "We have completed the construction of the main bridge before the scheduled time." There will be separate tenders for the connecting road. The companies that get work will work.
Amtali Upazila LGED Engineer Md. Idris Mia said that if the connecting road was constructed according to the height of the bridge, a nearby road was closed. Because of this, plans have been made to construct the underpass as an alternative so that the main road is right.
This will increase the cost somewhat. For this purpose, a new design and budget has been created and sent to the project manager. After the approval of the project, work will be started by calling tenders.
