Abducted 10-yr-old rescued in Kazipur ; kidnapper arrested

Kazipur police rescued a 10-year-old boy named Shipon from the Khamar Ullapara area under Belkuchi Upazila late Monday night (August 10), just a day after he was abducted while on his way to school.
Police also arrested the alleged kidnapper, Motaleb Pramanik, 38, during the drive.
Kazipur Police Station OC Abdur Razzaq said police launched operations across various locations following a complaint filed on August 10 by the child's mother, Bithi Khatun.
Based on information gathered during the investigation, police detained Motaleb from Khamar Ullapara at night. Following interrogation, officers rescued Shipon from a house in the same village based on details provided by the suspect.
Police revealed that Motaleb, who is the former husband of the child's aunt, abducted the boy in an attempt to forcibly re-establish a relationship with her. He had been issuing various threats via mobile phone prior to his arrest.
Motaleb, son of the late Moidan Ali from Nabipur village in Shahjadpur Upazila, faces multiple charges, including robbery, and was released from prison recently after serving a sentence. He has been sent to jail under judicial custody.
