A housewife killed in Nakla road crash

A housewife was killed in a road accident at Nakla upazila of Sherpur district on Twesday night, when she was hit by a passenger bus of Sonar Madina.

The deceased was identified as Asma Begum (50), wife of Md Anwar Hossain Babu Village of Baneshwardi Khandkarpara, under Baneshwardi Union in Nakla Upazila of the district and mother of 4 children.

The incident took place on the Dhaka-Sherpur highway at Ganpaddi Bazar in Ganpaddi union of the upazila. According to local sources, the housewife was killed on the spot when she was hit by a Sonar Madina bus, that going to Sherpur from Dhaka.

Locals rescued him and took to Nakla Upazila Health Complex. The duty doctor in the emergency department declared him dead.

Receiving the news, the police of Nakla PS went to the spot and recovered Asma Begum's body and took it to the police station. However, it was not possible to arrest anyone as the driver and the driver's assistant and others.

Abul Kashem Police Inspector (Investigation) of Nakla police station confirmed the incident. A case was failed in this regard at Nakla PS. He also said that following the request of the deceased's family, the body has been handed over to the family members for burial without autopsy.
