Chittagong Bureau
The Coast Guard has seized 71 bottles of vodka from Patenga Chinese Ghat in Chittagong.
Lieutenant Commander Md. Siam-ul-Haq, Media Officer of the Coast Guard Headquarters, gave this information on Thursday afternoon.
Bangladesh Coast Guard, in addition to ensuring the security of the coastal/riverbank area, has been conducting regular operations to control smuggling and narcotics.
In continuation of this, on Thursday at 3 am, based on secret information, a special operation was conducted by the BCG Outpost Patenga under the Eastern Zone of the Bangladesh Coast Guard in the area adjacent to the Chinese Ghat sea in Chittagong. During the operation, when the movement of two lifeboats in that area seemed suspicious, the Coast Guard expeditionary team gave a signal to the two boats to stop. The drug dealers on the boat, sensing the presence of the Coast Guard, quickly fled after landing the two boats at the Chinese wharf. Later, the two boats were searched and 71 bottles of Men Vodka were seized.
The process of destroying the seized vodka is under way in coordination with the Narcotics Control Department.
