6 families affected by fire in Tongibari get govt assistance

Government assistance has been provided to six families affected by fire in Tongibari Upazila of Munshiganj.
This assistance was distributed to the affected families on Tuesday afternoon at the initiative of the Upazila administration.
According to Upazila administration sources, the houses of six families were burnt down in a recent fire in Kaichmaldha village of Panchgaon Union of Tongibari. The families lost their homes and daily necessities and suffered greatly. Upon receiving the news, the Upazila administration quickly inspected the scene and prepared a list of damages.
In continuation of this, the district administration gave a check of 1 lakh 20 thousand taka to each family, blankets were distributed by the Upazila administration and 30 kg of rice was distributed to each affected family by the Union Parishad. In addition, financial assistance was provided to a disabled person affected by the fire from the Social Services Department.
During the distribution of assistance, UNO Suraiya Momtaz said, “The government is always by the side of those affected by natural disasters or fires. Necessary assistance will continue so that the affected families can return to normal life quickly.”
Upazila PIO Swapan Matabbar, local public representatives and dignitaries were present at the time. Members of the affected families who received the assistance expressed their gratitude to the government and administration.
