5 killed as two buses collide in Faridpur

At least five people were killed in a head-on collision between two buses in Mollikpur area of Kanaipur Union under Faridpur Sadar Upazila on Dhaka-Khulna highway.
The identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed.
In addition, nine people were injured in the incident. The injured are being treated at Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital.
The accident occurred around 4 am on Tuesday when two buses—Jhinaidah Paribahan, heading from Dhaka to Jhinaidah, and Green Express, traveling from Jhinaidah to Dhaka—collided head-on.
Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Karimpur Highway Police Mohammad Salauddin Chowdhury said efforts are underway to identify the victims. The two buses involved in the accident have been recovered and taken to the Karimpur Highway Police Station.
