A group of 45 mid-career civil service officers from Bangladesh completed a two-week capacity building programme organized by India’s National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in New Delhi on Saturday.

The programme was attended by 45 officers serving as Additional Deputy Commissioners, Senior Assistant Commissioners, Revenue Deputy Commissioners and Upazila Adhikaris and was held in Mussoorie and New Delhi from July 15-26.

Addressing the valedictory session of the programme, V. Srinivas, Director General of NCGG and Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) lauded the developmental partnership between India and Bangladesh and said the training has empowered Bangladesh civil service officers with new governance paradigms and initiatives.

During the training, four groups of participants made presentations on key topics: universal pension scheme in Bangladesh, the PM's ten special initiatives, five Tools for Good governance and Smart Bangladesh: Road to Prosperity.

Dr. A.P. Singh, Course Coordinator and Associate Professor, said the programme offered a valuable platform for mid-career officers from Bangladesh to exchange good governance models and experiences from both the countries.

From 2014-2024, with the support of the MEA and in close cooperation with the Indian Mission in Dhaka, NCGG has conducted capacity building programmes for 2700 Bangladeshi civil servants.
