In Mymensingh's Gafargaon, two teenagers, a young man and an old man committed suicide in 18 hours along with an SSC examinee. They have reportedly committed suicide due to love affair and family quarrels. The four deaths occurred just before Iftar on Thursday and lasted until 10pm on Saturday.

The two teenagers who committed suicide are Anik, 18, son of Shafiqul Islam of Dubail village under Pagla police station and Rubel, 18, son of Anas Miah of Chowka village. Besides, Arif, 22, son of Mofidul Islam of Koraitala area of Ward 4 of Gafargaon Municipality, has committed suicide due to poisoning.

Anik Mia of Dubail village committed suicide by hanging herself with a rope in a love affair. After Tarabi prayers, Anik Mia's family including Anik Mia's grandfather Habibur Rahman broke down the door and entered the house at around 9 pm. Anik Mia committed suicide. Upon receiving the news, Pagla police recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Arif of Gafargaon municipal town got intoxicated due to a family quarrel around 12:30 pm on Thursday. Family members rushed him to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. He died at 10 am on Friday while undergoing treatment there. His wife's name is Shefali Khatun. The Arif Mia-Shefali Khatun couple has a two-month-old son.

Rubel of Chowka village of the upazila got poisoned on April 28. His family members admitted him to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. He died at around 6 pm on Thursday.

Pagla Police Station OC Mohammad Rasheduzzaman said a UD case has been registered at Pagla Police Station in connection with the suicide.
Gafargaon police have recovered the body of an old man named Abdur Rashid (65) in Mymensingh's Gafargaon. His body was recovered from his barn in Bhatipara area of Digha village in the upazila on Friday night.
According to the family members of the deceased, they left the house in the afternoon and did not return home during Iftar. The family members searched and found the hanging body of AH Rashid hanging in the barn of their house. According to family members and local sources, AH Rashid may have committed suicide due to a family quarrel. Police recovered the body at around 11:30 pm on Friday and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Gafargaon Police Station OC Anukul Sarkar said a UD case has been registered in the incident.
